- Brief Description:
- Illustration, mounted on dark card, of the Seaman's Chapel ship "Bethal", Hull. [It is probable this illustration is of a vessel known as the VALIANT in Hull docks. Bethel ships were sometimes sea-going too. Latterly one of the whaling fleet would hoist the Bethel flag on a Sunday, when there would be no whaling, and men from other ships were invited to join them on board for services out in the Greenland seas. These were usually Methodist. Captain Gravill was a Methodist lay preacher.]
