Brief Description:
Marine mammal bone; the skull of a Minke Whale (Balaenoptera acutorostrata) washed ashore at Broomfleet Island, south-east of Broomfleet, East Yorkshire, on 6th - 8th May 1985. The whale measured 17 ft in length and was probably the same individual reported ashore at Goole Fields a few days before. The specimen is cited. Other bones from this whale include a humerus (KINCM:1987.292) and a lumbar vertebra (KINCM:1987.291) and a cervical vertebra (KINCM:1987.293).
