- Oil on canvas of the 'EMMA' in the Arctic, in company with other whalers, with whaleboats attacking a whale in the foreground. In the centre foreground there is starboard view of the Emma, there are three masts with a blue pennant on the main mast and Merchant Navy ensign on the gaff. There are whaleboats harpooning whales in the foreground, there is a another whaling steamer to the right, it has a blue pennant on the mizzen mast and has two masts, between the two ships there is also steam ship in the background. Icebergs are on the left with a figure with a weapon and there is a portside view of whaling ship in the distance.
