- Portside view of the 'Diana' being moored in Arctic ice, with sails furled, Merchant Navy ensign at the stern gaff and a blue pennant marked '700' on the mizzen mast and the ship's name marked at the bow side of a black hull with white gunwhale across the upper side. A single black funnel between main and mizzen masts, whale boats with two crew members being sailed along the hull side and at the stern; while a ladder has been lowered onto the ice at the far side of the bows, with crew on decks above and mooring the ship to the icebound shoreline below. Signed at the bottom left, but covered by the bottom corner edge of the frame. Icebergs on the horizon and storm clouds above.
