- Brief Description:
- Hand-coloured print of whalers in the Arctic, with the title 'The Greenland Whale Fishery' on a white plaque in the centre of the lower margin. The image depicts a group of whaling ships, under stormy skies, with groups of men in small rowing boats harpooning whales to the right. A group of men are attacking a polar bear on the shore in the left foreground. The print was made by 'T. Willson', after an image by Sieuwert van der Meulen ('Vdr. Maulen'). It was probably published in about 1760.
