Brief Description:
Printed notice for an auction by Bell & Hendry to take place on Friday 10th April (year unstated, but probably 1812) at the premises of Mr. P. Patrick in Burton Street, 'near the Gaol'. Items to be auctioned include horse hides, Greenland seal skins, calf skins, cow and ox hides and goat skins. A note in pen below reads 'N.B. The above Goods are part tanned'. The auction will also include a 'large parcel of very good manure'. The notice was printed by John Perkins, Rockingham Office, Hull. A handwritten inventory number '03' appears at the top. The reverse has a handwritten address, 'Mr Gilliatt Sumner / Beverley'. and the remains of a wax seal at the side indicating that the notice was sent as a letter to Gillyatt Sumner.
