Volunteer Projects

We have many different activities to offer our volunteers depending on your area of interest and level of expertise. Here are some examples of current projects you can get involved in:

FUTURE FERENS:

Are you....

Aged 18 to 25 and passionate about art?

Do you....

Want to make a difference and want to get experience working in an art gallery?

Then....

GET INVOLVED WITH FUTURE FERENS

This volunteer scheme started in 2006 and is for young people aged 18 to 25 with an interest in art and the Ferens Art Gallery. Over the years the group have worked with gallery staff to make the gallery and its exhibitions more accessible to young people through a number of projects, often externally funded. The Future Ferens have been closely involved in a number of high profile exhibitions over the years including three ARTIST ROOMS exhibitions (Woodman, 2011, Warhol, 2012, Creed, 2013) from the Tate and National Galleries of Scotland. They contributed to the marketing, learning and curatorial elements of these three exhibitions. The group attend regular meetings with gallery staff to discuss and develop projects.

This is the perfect time to join the group and get involved in our ambitious 2017 projects at the gallery, which is great for CV's, coursework, references and getting a job!
