Description
Gifted to the Gallery in 1983 this portrait's poor condition has prevented it from being displayed. Carpenter was unusual as a woman artist who enjoyed a long and successful career in the Victorian era.
Work required
Restoration will enable the picture to be displayed for the first time. It also requires a new frame.
