Brief Description:
Park Road, East Side, Hull, drawn Frederick Schultz Smith (1860-1925), about 1890. Kingston Enamelled Slate and Marble Steam Works was established here at the north-east side of the level crossing on Park Road in 1878. The company supplied marbvle fire surrounds, baths, cisterns and lavatories as well as monuments and headstones. Examples are lined up along the front of the site and along the side wall, as well as in the factory yard in the background. A display of fireplaces can be seen in the first floor windows of the shop at the front of the factory in the foreground. Two trains are passing each other to the left side of the factory. The city of Hull can be seen in the distance. Signed by the artist bottom left corner. Ink and wash mounted on card.
