- Brief Description:
- Pencil drawing of Cottingham Snuff Mill, East Yorkshire, by Frederick Schultz Smith. Snuff was made here from the late 18th and early 19th centuries. It was called a worsted mill in 1855 and oil-press bagging for Hull was made until it became disused around 1900. The three-storey mill-house is shown in the sketch to the left. This survives although the mill itself has been demolished. A man wearing a hat can be seen carrying items across the lane. The reverse has a note in blue biro which reads 'Cottingham Snuff Mill'.
