Brief Description:
Sketch of Watton Abbey, East Yorkshire, by Frederick Schultz Smith (1860-1925), c 1895. View of the ruined and overgrown buildings in the centre background, with trees in the foreground to right and left. A Gilbertine priory built around 1150. The priory was dissolved during the Reformation, with most of the present buildings dating to the fourteenth or fiteenth cenuries, with a house added in the nineteenth century. Pencil on paper.
