- Election notice for Joseph Kenworthy, Liberal (and then Labour) candidate and MP for Hull Central from 1919 to 1931. He lost to the Conservative, Basil Barton, in 1931. The text above reads 'Commander Kenworthy has persistently fought government waste and extravagances - Two of the chief causes of Excessive Taxation'. An illustration by Ern Shaw shows an over-fed pig in a trough labelled 'Taxation'. The pig is marked with the words 'Superfluous Government Departments and Officials'. Kenworthy is shown to the right with a speech bubble which reads 'If it wasn't for you we wouldn't need such a full trough'. It was printed and published by Ash & King, High Street, Hull.
