- Newspaper reproduction of a drawing of Lowgate by Frederick Schultz Smith (1860-1925), published about 1933 from an original ink and wash drawing of about 1895. 'Hull of Other Days - This is a view of Lowgate with the Old Town Hall on the right. The new Post Office had not then been built nor had the street leading to Clarence-street Bridge been constructed. The City Arms is on the left. The date is about 1890. The bock is from a sketch by the late Mr F S Smith, exhibitied in the Mortimer Museum.'
