- Brief Description:
- Drawing of the Hull river front from the Pier, looking west, by Frederick Schultz Smith (1860-1925), 1887. The view has been drawn from the raised section in the centre of Victoria Pier, looking west over the East Pier and the entrance to Humber Dock. A Humber keel can be seen to the left and paddlesteamers moored at the pier in the foreground. Victoria Pier was a popular place to promenade in the late nineteenth century and this drawing shows a number of people taking the air and admiring the view. Ink and wash on paper. It is signed and dated in the bottom left corner.
