- Waterhouse Lane looking south towards the corner of Osborne Street, Hull, drawn by Frederick Schultz Smith (1860-1925), about1885. The entrance to Hull Dock Company's fire engine station is on the left of the sketch. The Sailor's Institute, the tall pedimented building on the right, was built in 1842 and enlarged in 1861. It housed the offices of various organisations including the Port of Hull Society for the Religous Instruction of Seamen. The premises of R.T. Hudson, 'Wholesale Confectioners', is prominent on the right. There is sign with word 'COOKS' at top on the left side of the drawing. Ink and wash on paper. Signed bottom right.
