- Sketch of Market Weighton by Frederick Schultz Smith (1860-1925), 1894. View along the main street of Market Weighton, busy with pedestrians and horse-drawn carts. A man pushes a wheel-barrow down the centre of the street. In the left foreground is a building with a sign for 'Market Weighton Cycling Club'. Over the row of shops on the right is the tower of All Saint's Church. In the right foreground stands the Devonshire Arms, later known as the Londesborough Arms, coaching inn. Built in 1780s by the Duke of Devonshire it was used as the main coaching inn for the Yorkshire Wolds. The Duke's coat of arms is visible above the entrance. Pencil on paper. Dated bottom left corner.
