Brief Description:
Pencil drawing of the starboard view of the ship Seapro, by Hull artist Allanson Hick. Paper has bad foxing. Inscribed in pencil in bottom right corner: 'Allanson Hick. 1933. Study for watercolour entitled DOCKLAND - sold in Royal Academy Exhibition 1935.'. Inscribed in bottom left corner in pencil: 'SEAPRO, Alexandra Dock, Extr Hull. June 14 and 20th 1933. This ship was originally fitted to fish in foreign waters by means of the launches carried on board and to can the fish immediately in her own self contained factory by Messrs Sea Products Limited about 1927 or 1928. The enterprise however went bankrupt and this ship never put to sea but laid up in Hull until towed away on Monday October 2nd 1933 to be broken up.' Drawing is 31cm by 25cm.
