- Lowgate from the Old Guildhall drawn by Frederick Schultz Smith (1860-1925), about 1884. View looking south down Lowgate from outside the Old Guildhall, the building on the right with the ornate lamps. The tower of St Mary's Church is visible in the background. The shops on the opposite side of Lowgate include Charle Reinhardt's pork butchers, Thomas Thompson's butchers, Phillips and Curtis' Pawnbrokers (marked with the distictive sign of three gold balls) and Townsend's drapers. Ink and wash on paper, Glued to mountboard. Signed bottom left corner.
