- Brief Description:
- Certificate Of Discharge issued to Joseph Yeoman on 20th October 1869. It records that he served as Carpenter on board the Hull whaling ship 'Diana' on a voyage from Hull to the Davis Straits and back between 2nd March and 19th October 1869. The certificate is signed by Captain Richard Wells, Master of the 'Diana'. This was the last voyage of the Diana. Nearing Hull on her return from Greenland she was washed onto the Lincolnshire coast during a storm on 20th October 1869 and broke up. The crew were rescued by the lifeboat 'North Briton'. The section of the certificate to record the 'Place of Discharge' has a note that reads 'North Sea'.
