- Black and white photograph taken aboard a Norwegian factory whaling ship in the South Atlantic. Shows a group of men holding the crossing the line ceremony. A man is dressed as Neptune with a large beard and long hair, holding a staff. A man is cross-dressing next to him, possibly as a mermaid, with exaggerated rosy cheeks. A further eight men around them are all wearing silly hats / glasses. Note on the back "Crossing the line ceremony 1938. King Neptune and his queen". Donated by the family of a Hull man who sailed on the Terje Viken in 1938.
