- Landscape painting entitled 'The Flush from the West (A Fantasy)' by Ernest William Appleby (1862-1909), 1888. Blue and pink cloud covered coastline and shore at low tide with a pink sunset reflected in the shallow waves breaking along the shoreline in the foreground with a small group of rocks at the bottom right, while a cloud covered bay can be seen beyond with the outline of mountains rising along the far side, shrouded in mist and low lying clouds, with a burst of light from the clear sky and sunset above, which gives the cloud tops a pink-orange tinge. Oil on canvas.
