Three masts with sails furled, black hull with central white stripe and black funnel between the main and stern mast. View of crew and provisions with whale boats spread out on the ice with a tent and camp ereted in the centre foreground with icebergs rising on either side. Inscribed and dated at the bottom left. Plain gold painted frame, unglazed.
