Portside and starboard profile view of the whaling barques 'ELIZABETH' and 'LEVIATHAN III' with sails up, red pennants and a Union Jack on the stern mast of 'Elizabeth', surrounded by Arctic ice and icebergs, with whale boats and crews hunting a large whale at the centre left, another crew hauling a boat onto ice in the foreground. Other whale vessels and boats in the distance and on the horizon. Thomas Tather was First Officer of the Elizabeth and William Tather was the Master Mariner of Leviathan III.
