- Starboard profile view of the steam whaler 'CHASE' of Hull, in full sail with single black funnel between the main and stern mast, with a white name pennant on the main mast and the house flag of the Hull Whale and Seal Fishing Company on the mizzen mast and Merchant Navy ensign at the stern gaff. Back hull with portholes along the side and figurehead at the prow; whale boats suspended above the deckside. Alongside ice floes in the foreground with seals/walrus lying on the ice and sea birds flying above, while another whaling barque can be seen on the right horizon. Signature at the bottom right appears to be 'Willoughby'.
