- Engraving by S. Allen from a drawing by W.F. Settle of Whalers in the Arctic, probably based on a painting by John Ward. Two three masted whaling ships in arctic seas. One on the right in portside profile and the other a bows and starboard view with the body of a whale being flensed at the hull side, with whaling boats gathered around both vessels. Surrounded by landscape of arctic ice-bergs and ice floes with walrus on ice in the foreground either side of a whaling boat harpooning the body of a whale.
