- Pamphlet entitled 'The Whale / the greatest Mammal of the World and its Capture', printed for the 'Gigantic Whale Exhibition' on board the 'Arethusa' in Queen's Dock, Hull, in July 1903. The 71-foot long fin whale was captured near Spitzbergen on 23rd April 1901. The text describes the anatomy of the whale and its natural behaviour in the wild. There is also a section on 'Modern Factory Whaling', which states that 'since the introduction of the latest machinery used in capturing these monsters, they become rare as allready stated'.
