Brief Description:
Lowgate from Queen's Dock drawn by Frederick Schultz Smith (1860-1925), about 1884. Streetscene looking south down Lowgate from the south side of Queen's Dock. The large building on the right side has a date plaque inscribed '1881' above its arched doorway was originally a wine warehouse before latter serving as the Hull City Records Office. The clock tower of the Old Guildhall and the tower of St Mary's church can be seen in the distance. There are several figures in the street, two figures are with a table and chairs in the street. Ink on paper. Signed bottom left corner.
