- High Street and the Corn Exchange drawn by Frederick Schultz Smith (1860-1925), 1888. The Corn Exchange stands on the right. The design of the frontage was aparently inspired by a Roman triumphal arch. Opposite at No 158 & 159 high Street are the premises of Rayment & Sharp ships' chandlers and sail makers. There are two pedestrians on the left, and two horse-drawn carts, showing the narrowness of the steet. Ink and wash on paper. Signed and dated bottom left corner.
