Pen and ink drawing of the Imperial Hotel and Theatre Royal on Paragon Street, Hull by Frederick.Schultz Smith (1860-1925), 1889. The ornate Imperial Hotel building can be seen with William Bainton's name above the window. A building to the left has a large sign that reads 'Norfolk and Wood'. There are many ladders, buckets and a cart outside this business, and a woman in a long, dark dress. There is a man in a hat outside the front door of the hotel and two women in long dresses on the corner of the street, on the far right of the drawing. The artist’s signature is in the lower left corner, with the date Dec 1889.
