- Pen and ink drawing of the Old Kings Head Inn, High Street by Frederick Schultz smith (1860-1925), about 1895. Shows the inn on the left with jettied facade and black and white timber framing. Buildings also on right with a cobbled street between. Two men can be seen standing talking in the foreground, with a woman in a shawl on the left pavement. More figures in the background and a horse. Signed bottom left corner 'F.S. Smith'. Mounted on card. Wording handwritten on back in pen reads 'The Old Kings head Inn, High Street, Hull, pulled down some time about 1900. Here King Charles II stayed a night. Taylor the water? poet lodged here for a short time, also at one time was used as a bank, Pease's Bank (crossed out)'. Also 'F. S. Smith'.
