Brief Description:
178 High Street by Frederick Schultz Smith (1860-1925), 1884. Drawing of an old building known as Sissons' House, probably early seventeenth century, that once stood opposite Wilberforce House, High Street, Hull. The entrance on the left of the building leads to Bryant's Court. The premises on the right is R Rushforth Grocer. The Globe Hotel is visible on the far right. A horse and cart stand in the street, with a woman stood in the doorway of the grocer's, one washing the window, and another on the left sweeping the pavement. Ink and wash on paper.
