Hollym Village, Holderness

Based in Withernsea, George Cammidge was an accomplished local artist. He painted both land and seascapes and his depictions of local scenes were extremely popular in the region. This painting depicts the East Riding village of Hollym, near Withernsea. Looking Westwards through the village a sign for Patrington can be seen pointing south. Many of the buildings still exist, including the parish church and 'Rose Cottage', both shown on the left, and this work still remains a popular picture amongst Hollym residents today.
