The brig 'Wupper' off Spurn Head

This painting depicts the brig 'Wupper', built for W. and C. L. Ringrose in 1842 by Miller & Co. of Hull. She sailed in the Dutch trade to Rotterdam. She is depicted in two views with a pennant flying from the main mast. This is white with a red cross and a letter W in the upper corner near the hoist. The local landmark of a Spurn Point lighthouse is just visible in the background.
