Flowers in a Black Vase

Blond studied at the Russian secondary school in Ludz and, at the age of twelve, saw one of his watercolours enter the Kiev Museum after a school competition. On finishing school he studied in Warsaw at the Ecole des Beaux- Arts. He then moved to Berlin, and later to Paris, becoming friends with number of leading artists. From 1925 he began to exhibit regularly in France, England, Switzerland and the USA. His figurative painting is characterised by a delicacy of vision and a love of nature, and has been described as a window on the world.
