Bandar

Born in South Africa, Boden studied under George Fullard (1923-73) at Chelsea School of Art and was later a Gregory Fellow at Leeds. He went on to teach at some of London's key art colleges including Camden School of Art, Central St. Martin's and the London College of Printing. Boden's coloured sculpture of the 1960s explores volume and space. Bandar is derived from a steel cylinder with a section cut from it. The title is a mild pun on the bands which decorate the smooth, curved surface of the piece.
