A Lady
This painting of the ship in three positions is a complete ship portrait in which there was a necessity to paint from more than two angles to make a full record of the proportions and design of the vessel. This undoubtedly reflects the ownerâs pride in ownership. Unfortunately it is not known who owned the ship but the date on the painting of 1782 suggests that it was painted soon after it was built.
