North Cave, South Cave

The vibrant colour and rich texture of oil paint are the focus for this work, which also reflects the artist's early interest in the English tradition of landscape painting. North Cave, South Cave is inspired by an area to the west of Hull and was painted during Ord's five months as Artist-in-Residence at Humberside College of Higher Education in 1984.
