Portrait of Vincent Galloway

Beaulah made this painting of Vincent Galloway (1894-1977) at one of the morning painting sessions of the Hull Art Circle. Many famous local artists started their careers as members of this group, which continues to this day. Membership offered them a place to work where they could make many contacts with other artists in the area. Beaulah, an active member at this time, may well have met Galloway through this group. As Director of the Ferens Art Gallery, Galloway was a keen supporter of this group and had close connections with many of its members.
