Brief Description:
One of a pair of decorated sperm whale teeth. One side of the tooth shows the port profile of a fully rigged ship with backed sails on the main mast. There is a flag flying at the main with the letter 'B'. Above there is a decorative band with a lozenge pattern, interrupted by a panel inscribed 'KENT 1840'. The other side of the tooth shows three whaleboats around a sperm whale whose head and jaw is exposed, and a fully rigged ship on the horizon. The base of the tooth is perforated.
